  1. Truly grand. I like the view you took of the open stacks. I think the rail adds to the photo rather than distracts. It divides the the inanimate books from the animated, well not really moving, people at the table. It is almost as if you are peeking under to see them.

    • It was very impressive to be there but also a bit strange. You’re on a balcony on the second floor looking over the library while people studying there. It was almost like watching monkeys in a zoo. Would like to se some of the books there though, but have no idea if it is open for public, but I have a feeling it isn’t.

      • I don’t know much about libraries outside of the U.S. (except Taiwan). Benjamin Franklin founded one of the first free libraries in the 18th century in Philadelphia. The Boston Public Library is one of my favorites with its wonderful interior architecture and excellent collection related to revolutionary Boston.
